Inspiration for this design came from a project named “System Sector” by Corfid Bizna. Check out the cool wall shaders she created - they’re pretty awesome. :)

Last night, I was fortunate enough to spend some time working with corfidbizna - a long time friend, student, and inspiration to me. She was showing me a project she had completed in school last year, where she was required to build a playable game in the Unreal Engine. She’s a HUGE fan of the Kingdom Hearts series of games, and was extremely happy that so many of the KH games have been re-released in HD - but one of them which was quite dear to her did not get the HD conversion. So she decided to implement the “System Sector” level of the game “Kingdom Hearts Re:coded” in HD herself, and I think she ROCKED it!

While my design is not very similar the designs which inspired me, I’m still very happy with this output. Why do I call this design “Night of the Dead Voxels”? Because they flicker in and out of existence like an item that’s about to disappear in a video game. What’s up with calling these triangles “voxels”? Every shape here is actually a cube, bisected with a light beam down it’s diagonal normal.
