Since I learned about the new 2MB filesize limit for 400x400 GIFs on Tumblr, I thought I’d go ahead and re-upload one of my favorite(and also most popular) designs at a much higher quality than was up on Tumblr before. Enjoy!

Again, this design was inspired by Jeff Briant’s piece titled “The vents are opening”, which I actually need to go back and revisit for more inspiration because I think I can still make something cool from ideas that piece gives me.
Also, for any of you wondering how I made this GIF, I’ve posted the Blender file that I used to create it. This took all of 15 minutes to build the scene, but it took 3 days to render on a beefy render box to cycle out most of the noise, since the scene is almost entirely back lit. I’d love to see what you can do with this file!
